Kylie Minogue has officially scored her first-ever UK Christmas Number 1 single, thanks to her joyful track XMAS. The upbeat holiday anthem not only climbed to the top spot but also brought an end to Wham!’s two-year reign with their evergreen hit Last Christmas. Released as an Amazon Music Original, XMAS is available exclusively on the platform, as well as in CD and vinyl formats, with the music video dropping just last week.
Breaking Records Across Four Decades
This isn’t just another chart-topping moment for Kylie—it’s a record-breaker. With XMAS, she becomes the first female artist to achieve UK Number 1 singles in four different decades: the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and now the 2020s. It’s an incredibly rare accomplishment that puts her in legendary company alongside Elvis Presley, Queen, and Elton John. Cliff Richard is the only artist to span five decades at Number 1.
Minogue is also the first solo female to top the Christmas chart in 12 years, following X Factor winner Sam Bailey’s Skyscraper in 2013. She joins a very short list of international female artists to land a UK Christmas Number 1, alongside Whitney Houston and Winifred Atwell.

XMAS features on Kylie Christmas (Fully Wrapped), a 10-year anniversary edition of her 2015 festive album. The re-release dropped on December 5 and includes fan-favorite originals like At Christmas and 100 Degrees, along with covers of Santa Baby and It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.
The Fully Wrapped edition also brings four new songs into the mix: XMAS, Hot In December, This Time Of Year, and Office Party. “Revisiting Kylie Christmas ten years on has been so much fun,” Kylie shared. “Fully Wrapped has given me the chance to write and record four new songs and add a little extra sparkle.”
